OK so I guess that this is one shot that might get people a little excited. The old hands out there will probably recognise the set-up.
With the stepping motor fine control is possible. I managed to count about 21 steps each way to full lock. The return to centre is a little slow compared to spring and magnet set-ups. Check out the short video to see it in action.
